Victim identified in deadly wrong-way crash

Crash killed 27-year-old David Arcand from Dearborn Heights

DETROIT – Police have released the identity of the victim in a deadly wrong-way crash in Detroit.

David Arcand of Dearborn Heights was killed in the two-vehicle crash on westbound I-96 near Southfield Freeway early Thursday morning, Michigan State Police said.  The 27-year-old from Dearborn Heights was in the westbound lanes when a driver heading eastbound collided with his vehicle.

The wrong-way driver in the crash is a 32-year-old from Detroit.  He remains in critical condition.

The Michigan State Police Department is still investigating the crash. Alcohol is believed to be a factor.  Anyone with information is asked to call MSP at (248) 584-5740.
