TROY, Mich. -

Troy police said a man suspected of being under the influence of narcotics was driving erratically with a toddler in the car before being pulled over and arrested Friday morning.

Police said witnesses called to report following a man off I-75 and into the area of Rochester Road and East Long Lake because he was swerving all over the road.

The driver, a Sterling Heights resident, failed sobriety tests when he was stopped and was arrested on charges of operating under the influence of narcotics and child endangerment.

Police said paraphernalia associated with heroin use was found in the man’s car.

The toddler was unharmed and turned over to a parent. Police didn’t specify the man’s relationship to the toddler.

The man’s name is being withheld pending arraignment.
