Troy Mayor Janice Daniels lost her elected seat when voters approved a recall on Nov. 6, 2012.

TROY, Mich. -

The effort to recall Troy Mayor Janice Daniels is one step closer to getting on the November ballot.

The Oakland County Elections Division determined the political action group Recall Janice Daniels does have enough valid signatures. Nearly 8,000 signatures were needed, but the group turned in more than 8,800 valid signatures.

Daniels has until July 12 to challenge those signatures. If she is unsuccessful she will face a recall election on November 6.

According to Daniels, her team is checking the petitions.
