Trial date set for 28-year-old man who impregnated 11-year-old girl

Former school janitor faces life in prison if convicted

MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. – The trial for a 28-year-old man accused of impregnating an 11-year-old girl has been set for next February.

A DNA paternity test confirmed Trevaun Brooks fathered the baby that was born in August to the now 12-year-old girl.

Brooks was dating the girl's mother and lived in their home.

The girl and her baby are both healthy and are in the custody of state welfare workers.

Brooks worked over the summer as a janitor at a Mt. Clemens charter school.

  He faces life in prison if convicted.
