Thieves strike Dearborn Heights party store for 2nd time

Party store near Warren and Beech Daly Roads

DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. – Thieves strike a Dearborn Heights party store again.

The robbery happened at a party store Tuesday night in Dearborn Heights near Warren and Beech Daly roads.

Witnesses tell Local 4, the store was held up at gunpoint, but the owners fired back and came out shooting. A gun battle followed outside and the owners scared the three armed men back into their vehicle . One customer, who had just pulled up,  even helped the owner's shoot at the three men. A short time later, the men were involved in a crash with a Wayne County Sheriff cruiser.

The sheriff is ok.

Two of the gunmen are in custody. One person is on the run.

According to police, the trio from the most recent robbery may also be behind last week's attempted robbery at the same store, where a customer was shot.
