The Greening of Detroit kicks off

Volunteers plant trees across Detroit

DETROIT – The nonprofit group The Greening of Detroit is kicked off an effort to plant 1,100 trees in the city this fall on Saturday.

Neighborhood groups and corporate partners collaborated to plant the trees in the city's Warrendale neighborhood near Braile and Patton streets.

The tree plantings will go on every Saturday for the next eight weeks.
