Independence Township, MICHIGAN -

A 9-year-old girl was waiting alone at a bus stop in the area of Cranberry Lake and Brookwood in Independence Township about 8 a.m. Wednesday when a man approached her but did not say anything to her.

The girl did not tell the bus driver but did tell her mother when she arrived home from school. A similar incident happened to the girl at the same bus stop nearly a month ago.

The girl believes the same man is involved in both incidents. During the first incident the man did not exit his vehicle. He pulled up nearby then stared at her before driving away.

The first incident was not reported to the Oakland County Sheriff's Department.

The suspect is described as a white man between 50 and 60 years old. He was last seen wearing a Detroit Tigers baseball hat, grey sweatshirt and blue jeans.
