State provides sample ballots for Michigan voters

LANSING, Mich. -

Michigan Secretary of State Ruth Johnson says sample ballots for next week's election are available online.

Johnson says the aim of providing the sample ballots for voters heading to the polls on Tuesday is to make the voting process easier and faster. That's important in a year that many voters will see lengthy ballots -- two pages in some cases.

Voters can bring the sample ballots into their polling location but cannot show them to other voters.

The Michigan Voter Information Center website also allows residents to check their voter registration status, find their polling location and learn about absentee voting.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day.
