DETROIT -

Diversity in the arts is the theme behind the Sphinx Competition Finals Concert, which is set for Sunday in Detroit.

The Sphinx Competition Finals Concert will be held at the Max M. Fisher Music Center on Woodward Avenue.  Sunday's concert will begin at 2 p.m.  It will wrap up a conference that focuses on diversity in performing arts and providing minorities with the opportunity to embrace music. The conference, SphinxCon, began February 15.  It features multiple speakers and presentations.

The Sphinx Organization encourages youth development and diversity in classical music.  The organization also provides musical education and instrumental lessons for Detroit and Flint area students.
