Shots fired between police, gunman in Harper Woods; no injuries

HARPER WOODS, Mich. -

Shots were fired between police and a gunman Friday afternoon on Lancaster Street near Interstate 94 in Harper Woods.

No officers were injured.

The gunman was barricaded inside a home on the street. He surrendered without anyone getting injured.

A spokeswoman at nearby Mason Elementary, in Grosse Pointe Woods, said the school was temporarily on lockdown. The lockdown has been lifted.

The shooting happened on the east side of Interstate 94.


Police surrounded the front of the home with crime tape after the gunman surrendered.
