Shooting happens right behind Highland Park school building

HIGHLAND PARK, Mich. -

Highland Park Renaissance Academy, formerly Highland Park High School, was briefly put on lockdown Thursday afternoon because of a shooting that happened behind its building.

Police on the scene said the shooting was self-inflicted, not fatal and didn't involve a student.

No one else was hurt.
