Royal Oak High School students walk out of class to support former principal

Michael Greening on paid administrative for allegedly taking money from Student Activities Fund

ROYAL OAK, Mich. – Students at Royal Oak High School walked out of class Friday morning in support of their former principal who is accused of stealing money from the school.

Dozens of students collectively marched at about 9:30 a.m.

Michael Greening has been on paid administrative leave since December for allegedly taking money from the Student Activities Fund.

He's charged with two counts of embezzlement.

Student Corrine Dudley said even if he did it, Greening and his family still need support.

"Even to us, some people believe he's guilty and some people believe he's innocent. But I think more so with us, whether he's guilty or not, it's just to show support for him and the family," she said. "If he did it, it was a mistake and it's still a hard time and he still needs to know that we care."

Following the walk out, some students went to court, where Greening had a pre-exam conference.
