Roseville mom in critical condition after trying to save her kids during a carjacking

Police said carjackers ran over mom, crashed Jeep with kids inside car

ROSEVILLE, Mich. – A Roseville mom is in critical condition after two men ran her over Thursday morning as she tried to stop them from stealing the car that had her two children inside.

Police said the 31-year-old mother was getting ready to drive her 7-year-old and 8-year-old to school just before 9 a.m. when she left them in a running Jeep Cherokee in her driveway on Collingwood Street to run back into the house for something.

As she came out, the mother saw two young men get into the Jeep, police said.

As she ran screaming toward the men, they took off, running over her in the process, police said.

The Jeep crashed into a telephone pole on nearby Marquette Street.

Police said witnesses told them the men were picked up by a dark colored minivan or small SUV.

They haven't been caught and police didn't release any other descriptions of them.

The mother is listed in temporary critical condition with head and leg injuries. The children were not hurt.

Anyone who may have witness this incident is asked to contact the Roseville Police Department at 586-447-4483.
