DETROIT -

Pottery Barn is recalling thousands of dolls from its Kids' Girl Doll collection after reports of problems with the doll's hair and one doll's head band.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said five people reported children's head or necks being stuck in the doll's hair. The hair is formed by yarn loops.

The recalled dolls are the Audrey, Chloe and Sophie dolls. Pottery Barn sold the recalled dolls nationwide through catalogs and online between July 2006 to April 2011.

The C.P.S.C. wants consumers to take the dolls away from children and cut the looped hair so it is no longer a loop. Any customer who wishes to return the doll may do so for a merchandise credit.
