PORT HURON, Mich. -

UPDATE: 35-year-old Richard Daniel Clay was arraigned Sunday morning on charges of assault with intent to commit murder and being a habitual offender. His bond is $150,000 cash. His first court appearance is scheduled on Tuesday, November 27th.

Port Huron police says that when they arrived at the Silver Pines Apartments early Saturday morning, they found a man bleeding from cuts to his wrist. They originally thought he was the intended victim.

After searching the apartment, officers said they found another person with cuts and bruises to his face and body.

They then found the first man they had talked to had a box-cutter and in fact was the attacker.

The victim in the case had tried to play dead and was waiting for the attacker to leave.

The victim is in the hospital being treated for his wounds. Police have not released his condition.

The attacker is expected to be charged with attempted murder on Sunday. Police have not said what lead to the violent attack.
