Police warn of military magazine scammer in Macomb County

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. -

Fraser Public Schools officials are warning residents about a fraudulent magazine fundraiser.

Clinton Township police say someone snapped a picture of a girl who claiming to be a member of the Fraser softball tea. The girl said she was going door-to-door selling magazine subscriptions. She claimed the magazines would go to soldiers overseas.

The girl even produced a list of soldier names who would get the magazines. However, the school district said the girl is in no way affiliated with the Fraser Public Schools.

Anyone who has fallen victim to the scam or who has information on the suspect should contact the Clinton Township Police Department at 586-493-7845.
