GROSSE POINTE SHORES, Mich. -

Police are asking for help to find the man and woman responsible for at least nine identity thefts in the Metro Detroit area.

Police say the two suspects caught on store surveillance used stolen information to apply for credit accounts at: Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy, Art Van, Gardner White, Home Depot, Micro Center, Macy’s, and Sears.

The pair have hit stores located in Grosse Pointe Shores, Novi, Northville and Farmington Hills.

Once accounts were open the duo went on a spending spree in each store until the limit was reached on the account.

In all, they racked up $60,000 in stolen purchases.

Surveillance footage showed the suspects driving away from one store in a burgundy Chevrolet or GMC conversion van.

If you have any information on these two individuals contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-Speak-Up.

A reward of $1,000 is offered for information leading to an arrest.
