Police search for gunman after River Rouge deadly shooting

RIVER ROUGE, Mich. – Police in the Detroit suburb of River Rouge are seeking people involved in the fatal shooting of a convenience store co-owner.

It happened at the Stars, Liquor and Lotto store at Coolidge and Campbell in River Rouge.

Police believe the homicide and robbery were caught on surveillance video.

Two men ambushed the clerk as he was locking up at 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

The victim, who was shot in the face, called 911 and told dispatchers about the robbery.

It's believed the men shot the clerk through the door.

The crooks took off with the man's Red Pontiac Aztek.

The clerk is the party store owner's brother.

He said, after checking security footage lately, he felt the store was being watched.

Police have escorted employees to their vehicles in the past.
