TAYLOR, Mich. – Taylor police said a Taylor youth football player used a pencil to stab his opponent during a game Saturday against a Dearborn team.
The Dearborn Lions youth football team was in Taylor playing a game against the Taylor Mustangs. The Lions were up 18-0 at half time.

However, the Mustangs put up 41 points in the second half and the Lions players were complaining that they were being stabbed during play.
Reed Richardson, 13, a player on the Lions, said the kid playing across from him on the field used a pencil as a weapon to stab him.
"He came up to block me and got me right under the pads," Richardson said.
The game ended abruptly in the 4th quarter due to unsportsmanlike conduct.
"If he would have gotten him in the neck, or somewhere it could have really hurt him, we could be talking about something else right now," said Aaron Richardson, Reed's father.
Taylor police said the Taylor teen accused of stabbing Reed would have to go to juvenile court and that officers were still investigating.
The Downriver Junior Football League said it was investigating the incident.
