An official with The Henry Ford in suburban Detroit has been appointed by President Barack Obama to serve on the National Museum and Library Services Board.

The Dearborn historical attraction said Monday that Paula Gangopadhyay's appointment was made official last week. She's chief learning officer at The Henry Ford and is among eight new members of the board, which is the advisory body for the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

The Henry Ford includes Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village.
