DETROIT -

Thursday morning will be dry and cold for the start of Firearm Deer Hunting Season.  Hunters will not have any snow as they keep their toes, ears and other extremities warm as morning lows start in the 20s.  Sunrise is just before 7:30.  The afternoon will be mostly sunny and chilly with highs in the middle 40s.

Sunset is near 5:15.  Overnight lows return to freezing with clear skies.

Friday and the weekend will have afternoon highs returning to average.  The sun shines again with daytime temperatures near 50 degrees each day.  High school playoff and college football fans will have to stay warm like the hunters when they take the stands.

Sunday remains dry outside Ford Field when the Lions battle the Packers.  Highs will be near 50, again.
