DETROIT -

A Detroit gem will soon reopen.

According to Crain's Detroit Business, the Michigan Science Center plans to announce its reopening date next week.

Financial problems forced the museum to close last year.

The museum already has begun taking applications through its temporary website.

A news conference will be held Dec. 4 to announce when the museum will reopen.

Ahead of the formal announcement, the museum will open on Dec. 1 for the annual Noel Night, which offers several free activities for visitors.
