Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder to present 2014 budget recommendation, participate in town hall meeting

LANSING, Mich. -

Michigan Governor Rick Snyder will present his fiscal year 2014 budget recommendation to legislators Thursday at 11 a.m. in Lansing.

Presented along with Lt. Gov. Brian Calley and State Budget Officer John Nixon, Snyder may discuss possible proposals on Thursday, such as funding to improve Michigan roads, the number of police patrolling cities, and education.

At 2:15 pm, a media roundtable will be held to discuss the budget with Snyder, Calley, Nixon, Michigan Department of Community Health Director Jim Haveman and Michigan Department of Transportation Director Kirk Steudle.

Snyder will also participate in a live televised town hall discussion with citizens at 7 pm. The hourly event will focus on the future of Michigan, jobs and taxes. Snyder will also answer questions from the audience and questions from social media.

The live event will be live-streamed online at ClickOnDetroit.com.
