Man killed walking from work

A 21-year-old man was killed during a robbery. Police said he was held up while walking home from work in Pontiac.

According to police, Montonez Whitehead left his job at McDonald's Friday night on Telegraph and Elizabeth Lake Roads in Waterford. Whitehead was walking home in his fast-food uniform when he was shot in the head. The shooting happened at Whittmore and Francis Streets in Pontiac around 10 p.m. The young man was killed and the shooter left with his Apple iPad and iPhone.

"Somebody showed up late Friday night, a little out of breath and had a new iPad or iPhone and wanted to sell one. Little pieces of the puzzle could be enough to help us move it down the field for closure," said Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard.

At this point, authorities believe Whitehead was targeted.

"I think somebody saw something, somebody heard something. Sometimes people talk afterwards especially with this kind of violent attack," said Bouchard.

No arrests have been made in the case.
