One man is dead after a shooting on Detroit's west side early Sunday morning.

Michigan State Police shut down Southfield Freeway at Warren Ave. for several hours for an investigation.  It's unclear if the victim was shot on the highway.

Detroit Police and Michigan State Police also taped off an area at Joy Road and Ashton Road as a part of the investigation.
