DETROIT -

Local 4 has learned a man drove through a security checkpoint Friday on the north end of Detroit Metro Airport where he then got into an altercation inside a Delta hanger.

Spokesman Mike Conway says the security checkpoint is at an area where food service employees, fuel tankers and other airport employees enter the airport.

The driver made it all the way to a Delta hanger where he got into the altercation with someone. He was arrested and taken to a nearby hospital.

The man was driving an older Buick Regal. He followed a fuel tanker through the checkpoint when the gate went up. Delta employees noticed him and forced him over toward the Delta hanger. That's when he got out of his vehicle and ran inside the hanger.
