DETROIT -

Detroit police said a man was killed in an early morning shooting at a gas station on the city's west side.

The shooting happened at the BP in the 10000 block of Fenkell.

Police said a dispute erupted between a customer and the store clerk, allegedly over a box of condoms.

Police said tensions arose when the customer made a comment about being overcharged and the clerk allegedly shot him.

The family of the victim has identified him as Michael Haynes.

The gas station clerk is in custody.
