MSU's Derrick Nix arrested, suspended

According to the Lansing State Journal , Michigan State center Derrick Nix has been suspended indefinitely from Spartan basketball program following his arrest Monday night on charges of marijuana possession and operating a vehicle with the presence of drugs.

Michigan State men's basketball coach Tom Izzo has since suspended the junior.

Izzo's statement

"Based on the information we have received, Derrick Nix has been suspended indefinitely from our basketball team, and his future with our program is uncertain," Izzo said in a statement released this afternoon. "He made an irresponsible decision that has put his future with our program in serious jeopardy."
The Lansing State Journal reports Nix, who was arrested Monday night, remained in jail as of noon Tuesday. Both offenses are misdemeanors.
