MSU and Michigan head back to the Palace

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -

Both Michigan State and Michigan will head back to the Palace of Auburn Hills, Saturday.  Michigan will kick it off at 12:15 p.m., playing VCU. Michigan State will follow that game at 2:45 p.m., going up against Memphis.

Spartan and Wolverine fans packed the house to watch both teams advance in the NCAA tournament. Michigan took home the win Thursday at the Palace, against South Dakota State. Glenn Robinson III scored 21 points and Mitch McGary added 13 points and nine rebounds, helping Michigan overcome a tough night for Trey Burke, winning 71 to 56.

Michigan State also battled it out with Valparaiso at the Palace. Derrick Nix led the way with 23 points and a career-high 15 rebounds as the Spartans coasted past the Crusaders, winning 65 to 54. Keith Appling added 15 points and Gary Harris scored 10 for Michigan State.
