ROYAL OAK, Mich. -

Royal Oak police have dug up a knife they are investigating as the possible weapon that was used to murder an 80-year-old woman, Local 4 has learned.

Local 4 cameras were rolling Wednesday night as investigators used shovels and a metal detector to comb a median on Woodward Avenue near Catalpa Drive.

Nancy Dailey was found dead Sunday in her home on Trafford Road. She had been bound and her throat cut.

A homeless couple, Alan Craig Wood and Tonia Michelle Watson, were taken into custody Tuesday in connection with Dailey's death. They have not been charged with her death but are being held as parole absconders. They each have lengthy criminal records.
