ROYAL OAK, Mich. -

Michelle Johnson's face is badly cut. Her right leg is shattered.

The injuries are souvenirs the bridesmaid was not expecting to take home from her soon-to-be sister-in-law's bachelorette party.

"It went from happy laughing to screeching tires and shattering windows," Johnson said.

Saturday night started with seven women out on the town in Royal Oak.

The night ended with their taxi smashed and nearly totaled after a hit-and-run driver ran a red light at 11 Mile Road and Stephenson Highway in Madison Heights. The crash left Johnson with rods and screws in her legs.

"Are they still here? Who hit us? Are they still here? You could tell it was the most painful thing for the cops to say there was no one else there," Johnson said.

Six women immediately were rushed to a hospital. However, Johnson was stuck inside the vehicle with her leg pinned.

"Everyone was screaming, talking about the blood everywhere. Unfortunately I looked down at my leg and that's when I noticed it wasn't straight. It was like in a C, like a letter C. It was obviously broken," she said.

Evidence from the crash has police looking for a black 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 with severe damager to its front end. That's the pickup truck police believe fled the crash.

As for Johnson, she is supposed to wear a full-length purple gown and stand by her friend and brother's side on Saturday -- one of life's simple moments, taken away in an instant.

"I am going to see with physical therapy if I am able to walk the distance, in here today, that the aisle will be. And they have a chair set up at the altar where I will be able to sit down, if in fact I can walk with help from a walker and my fiance.," Johnson said.

Anyone with information about the hit-and-run is asked to contact Madison Heights police.

The crash happened at the intersection of 11 Mile Road and Stephenson Highway in Madison Heights.
