Andrew Humphrey!

"andy is ashore but remains potent and dangerous.  A Wind Advisory remains in effect for Detroit and most of Southeast Michigan until 5pm.  A High Wind Warning is in effect for Sanilac and St. Clair Counties until noon.  Both advisories are scheduled to expire at 5pm.  Flying debris, including tree branches, and downed power lines remain as possible dangers.  All of Tuesday will be chilly, raw, windy and wet with temperatures in the upper 30s and low 40.  Choppy lakes and some coastline flooding are possible, too.

Friends, neighbors and relatives in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast will fair much worse.  In addition to wicked winds, there will be heavy rain, flooding and snow (in the Appalachians).  "Sandy" will linger over Pennsylvania and New York through Halloween before moving over northern New England and Southeast Canada this Friday and Saturday.

Halloween in Detroit will still be windy, wet and chilly.  Kids should wear layers under their costumes to stay warm, and parents need to remember to bring umbrellas as they escort them from house to house.

We "Fall Back" this weekend and check the batteries in our smoke detectors.
