It probably isn't where Kate Middleton will be buying her gown, but Costco is hoping for great success with bridal gown sales.

The cash-and-carry has joined forces with top bridal designer Kirstie Kelly to sell six exclusive dresses at around 40 per cent of their usual retail price.

The handmade gowns are being showcased in a series of four-day trunk shows in one-off events around the country.

They range in price from $699 to $1,399 with dress sizes ranging from size 2 to 24.

Brides-to-be can either book an appointment or walk in to the temporary Costco concessions during the events, which are advertised on the company website.

Consultants will be on-hand to advise and answer any style questions, and the dresses can be taken home the same day - though, the designer added, they are likely to want to get it tailored to ensure the best possible fit.
