Harrison Twp. mother accused of driving drunk with children

Police say mother blew .33 blood alcohol

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A Harrison Township woman is accused of driving drunk with her two children in the vehicle.

Police said 33-year-old Wendy Trongo was driving a sports utility vehicle Sunday on South River Road near Hazel Street. Trongo drove the vehicle off the road and into a ditch. No one was injured. Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said the woman was still behind the wheel when they found the vehicle with the engine still running.

Police said the woman was given a breathalyzer and she blew a .33 blood alcohol level, which is beyond the legal limit of .08.

The children are 1 and 3 years old. They were turned over to their father.

The mother faces charges including two counts of child endangerment and operating while under the influence of alcohol.

Trongo was being held at the Oakland County Jail. She posted a $300 cash bond before her arraignment.
