Harper Woods police: Shots were fired at officer

HARPER WOODS, Mich. -

Harper Woods police said they are investigating who fired shots at an officer early Sunday morning while he was on patrol.

Police said the sergeant was in the area of Kelly Road and Washtenaw at about 2 a.m. when the shots rang out.

The sergeant wasn't hit by any of the shots but they went into a building that was directly above the windshield of his scout car.

Anyone with information on who the gunman was is asked to call the Harper Woods Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 800-SPEAKUP.
