Grosse Pointe Woods police release surveillance picture of gunman

Mobil station on Mack Avenue targeted Friday morning

GROSSE POINTE WOODS, Mich. – Grosse Pointe Woods police have released a surveillance picture of a man who they said robbed a gas station early Friday morning at gunpoint.

Police said the gunman went into the Mobil station at 20700 Mack Avenue at about 5 a.m. and threatened the clerk, demanding money from the register. Police said the gunman also got away with an envelope of money that was under the register.

The clerk was not hurt.

Police said the gunman was wearing a ski mask and a scarf. They said he got away in a 2004 silver Dodge Dakota pickup truck that is reported stolen out of Warren.
