Freeway reopened following accident, explosion involving truck on I-94

DETROIT -

Emergency crews reopened all lanes of I-94 at Michigan Avenue just after 4 p.m. Wednesday following an accident involving a semi-truck in Detroit. The accident happened just before 2 p.m.

There is no word on what may have caused the accident. Images from Sky 4 show the cab of the truck, which has Arrow Chemical Products on the door, jumped the median. The truck's trailer somehow caught fire.

Amazingly, the driver was not seriously hurt and was able to get out of the truck before the explosion. A spokesperson with Arrow Chemical Products told Local 4 the driver was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure. The truck was hauling cleaning products.
