Fight erupts outside Shelby Township polling place

Argument, war of words between Shelby Township candidate, campaigners and a local blogger

SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A fight broke out Tuesday afternoon outside a polling place in Shelby Township Tuesday afternoon. The Shelby-Utica Patch was there when the altercation began between candidate for treasurer and current Trustee Lisa Manzella, her husband Joe Manzella, Shelby Township political blogger Matt Guarnieri and Jean Leman who is the wife of Shelby Township Supervisor candidate Bob Leman.

It began when Guarnieri parked his truck in font of precincts 23 and 24 at Crissman Elementary School near 24 Mile Road. Guarnieri was painting over political signs when he was approached by Jean Leman. Soon, as you can see in the video, Joe Manzella and his wife Lisa become involved in the skirmish.

No arrests were made and the incident remains under police investigation.
