Father shoots son on Detroit's west side

Police scene on Detroit's west side near Ashton and Schoolcraft where a father shot his son.


Detroit police are investigating a shooting on the city's west side.

It happened Saturday afternoon near Ashton and Schoolcraft.

Police tell Local 4 that a 46-year-old father allegedly shot his son four times while other family members were in the home. The father is currently in custody.

Police say his 22-year-old son went into surgery for his injuries. He was last listed in critical condition at Sinai Grace Hospital.

It's unclear what led to the shooting.
