The Salvation Army Kettle Drive kicked off Friday night with the annual tree lighting at Campus Martius in downtown Detroit.

Thousands attended the ceremony to ring in the holiday season.

Bell ringers, the world's tallest Red Kettle and ice skating are just some of the fun at Friday night's festivities.
