The Detroit Police Department announced Wednesday that visitors this coming weekend at the North American International Auto Show must follow guidelines for adult supervision.
Police said anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult 21 years of age or older after 5 p.m. at Cobo Center.
These guidelines will be in effect from 5 p.m. until close all weekend and the following Monday, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, when students are not in school for the holiday.
Loitering outside of Cobo will not be allowed, police said. Drivers must plan to be prompt when picking up auto show visitors.
If an individual under the age of 18 is at the show without an adult after 5 p.m., Detroit police will escort them outside. Police will assist them in contacting an adult for transportation home.
The Police Department said these curfew guidlines have been effective in recent years in keeping visitors safe.
