DETROIT -

A Detroit group is one of four nonprofits competing for $25,000 in an online contest.

The 313 Project and three others from across the U.S. are vying for a $25,000 Home Depot gift card as part of the Home Depot Foundation's Aprons in Action Facebook contest.

Voting is under way and runs through Jan. 31.

The organization that receives the most votes during the month will win the $25,000 prize to help fund an organizational or community improvement project.

The 313 Project is up against three other veterans-focused organizations across the country, including Another Chance Outreach Center in Gary, Ind.; Sons of the American Legion in East Point, Ga.; and Vetshouse Inc., in Virginia Beach, Va.

The runner-up organizations will receive $5,000 in Home Depot gift cards.
