Detroit Police Department's Eastern District evacuated for grenade

Bomb squad contains device, clears area at Gratiot and Gunston

DETROIT – The Detroit Police Department's Eastern District was evacuated Friday afternoon when someone dropped off a grenade at the building.

--Suspects who were in custody were led out of the building in handcuffs.

A bomb squad contained the device and cleared the area around the building, which is on Gratiot Avenue near Gunston.
