DETROIT -

A lawsuit filed by former Detroit Red Wings forward Darren McCarty and his wife against his former friends has been dropped.

However, legal matters involving a fourth friend are still being decided.

McCarty and his wife claim the four have been harassing and threatening them during the past two years, or ever since McCarty has tried to distance himself from his past life of women, alcohol and drugs.

All four accused contested the information. Proceedings will continue July 25.

McCarty also alleges the women called a radio station to say he was selling crack out of his basement. He says he doesn't have a basement.

He admits he drank and attended parties after his retirement from the Red Wings in 2009, and that he dated the three woman.

Local 4 tried to contact the three women, but there was no answer at any of their homes.
