BIRMINGHAM, Mich. – Birmingham police are issuing an alert after reports of thieves posing as magazine salesmen going door-to-door and robbing people.
Investigators have received several reports from residents about the conmen who say the work for a company called Mega Sales Inc.

On Monday, one woman on Bowers St. told police that a man came to her door, saying he was selling magazines. She reportedly let him inside. He then distracted her, took her wallet and purse and took off.
Police said someone in the neighborhood later found the wallet with money missing nearby.
Authorities are advising you to never let solicitors inside your home.
