MICHIGAN -

The U.S. Coast Guard will start ice-breaking operations in the Saginaw Bay on Friday.

The Coast Guard Cutter Holly Hock, a 225-foot ship, will start the operation later Friday afternoon.

The Coast Guard reminds everyone that ice in this area should be considered unsafe and people should stay clear of the area.
