Cat shot in head with arrow in Blackman Township

Public Safety Officials: Case of who shot Baby the cat at a standstill

JACKSON, Mich. – Public safety officials in Michigan's Blackman Township say they don't have any new information on who is responsible for shooting a pet cat in the head with an arrow.

Sgt. Christ Boulter said the case of who shot the cat, who is named Baby, is at a standstill after the cat was found injured on Sunday.

Blackman is a charter township located in Jackson County, approximately 70 miles west of Detroit.

Tammy Nyssen's said her husband found the family cat lying outside of their Pattie Avenue home, with an arrow directly through the front of its head.

Baby, a six year old male, was still alive.

The cat was taken to a veterinary hospital where it underwent surgery to remove the arrow.

Doctors said Baby is expected to make a full recovery.

Nyssen said the cat is both an indoor and outdoor pet.

She believes the injury to Baby was done intentionally, as the arrow hit the cat right between the eyes.

Nyssen said the family hasn't had problems in the neighborhood since moving there almost a decade ago.
