MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -

A candlelight vigil is planned for a 4-year-old boy reported missing from a mid-Michigan Indian reservation a week ago as the search for the child continues.

The gathering is planned for Thursday night outside offices for the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe near Mount Pleasant.

Carnel Chamberlain disappeared June 21st while in the care of his mother's boyfriend and the tribe this week described the case as a criminal investigation.

Carnel's mother said her boyfriend was caring for the child at her home near Mount Pleasant while she was at work.

The tribe said the boyfriend initially wasn't cooperative.

Nothing was turned up in searches led by tribal police on Wednesday and the search was to continue Thursday.
