A photo of a Mayfield Heights, Ohio Burger King employee's feet in containers filled with lettuce was posted to a website with a direct caption: This is the lettuce you eat at Burger King.

The photo originally appeared on 4Chan, where users can post images anonymously. Other users soon recognized the location thanks to some identifying items left in the photo. They called the Burger King and the location's Facebook page was soon flooded with posts about the image.

Digitallife.today.msnbc.msn.com spoke with the director of communications for Burger King who said three employees were fired due to photo.

He also gave the website this statement:

Burger King Corp. has recently been made aware of a photo that shows a Burger King restaurant employee violating the company’s stringent food handling procedures. Food safety is a top priority at all Burger King restaurants and the company maintains a zero-tolerance policy against any violations such as the one in question.
