CHESTERFIELD, Mich. -

The body of U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Matthew Leach of Chesterfield will return home Monday before being laid to rest.

Leach, 29, passed away June 26 while serving his country in Afghanistan.

His body will be flown in to the Selfridge Air National Guard Base in Harrison Township.  It will then be escorted to the Wujek-Calcaterra Funeral home in Sterling Heights by a motorcade of motorcycles.

Visitation will be held Tuesday and the funeral will be held Wednesday.

The family has invited the Patriot Guard Riders, a motorcycle club who attends the funerals of U.S. armed forces members, to stand in honor of Leach's sacrifice.
